The Master of Applied Oral Sciences (MAOSc) programme will produce graduate who are:
- Knowledgeable to manage oral health problems by integrating the acquired and revealed knowledge.
- Capable to think critically and solve dental problems effectively.
- Competent to perform procedures with good communication, leadership and teamwork skills in improving oral health of patients and community through the use of digital technologies and numeracy skills.
- Proficient to improve personal and entrepreneurial skills for continuous self-development.
- Professionally and ethically responsible in provision of dental treatment in-line with syariah and Islamic conduct.
CAREER PROSPECTS
A 1-year pre-requisite for a 3-year (1 + 3 year) specialist programme
- Academician and clinician in government and private universities.
- Clinical specialists (Orthodontist and Restorative Dentistry Specialist) in Ministry of Health and Ministry of Defense.
- Clinical Specialists (Orthodontist and Restorative Dentistry Specialist) in private sector.
- Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS); or Doctor of Dental Surgery; or other dentistry equivalent qualifications recognized by the Malaysian Dental Council.
- Registered with the Malaysian Dental Council (MDC) and holds current Annual Practising Certificate (APC) or registered with the dental regulatory body in another country and eligible to be granted a Temporary Practising Certificate (TPC) by MDC.
- Health and other requirements as required by HEP.
